The Puppaluppas last year, at nine weeks old, before she grew into her paws.  This photo cracks me up.  She moved just as I snapped the pic, and the resulting expression proves that Candy is sometimes not sweet.

Lea, Lea, nice to see ya!

Lea is eleven years old, but she’s in great shape. We hope she’s got a few more years yet.

Doberman times three.

Last night we welcomed a third Doberman to the pack. A relative living overseas had passed away in May and Mark had promised to take care of her dog, a five-year-old red dobie named Demo (pronounced Dee-Moe). So after several anxious hours in the airport, Demo arrived at the baggage claim with his leash and his blankee.

In a lovely article about the doberman’s personality, Frank Grover writes, “Seldom do you find a ‘licking’ Doberman. A single kiss—a touch of the tongue, a touch of his nose to your ear—that is his way of special greeting.”  This is pretty much true of Lea, but Candy is definitely the exception.  I call her the licking dog.
